Bedrock Preschool implemented the complete Kindiedays Pro Program during the first half of 2024.
Now, our Education Specialist Stella and CEO Milla met up with Leena Chandra, the Founder of Bedrock, to review the results and discuss the future.
How did it go?
Stella: Thank you for having us here today at Bedrock Academy in Bangalore, India. I would like to know a little bit about how you made Bedrock.
Leena: My vision for Bedrock was to create a firm foundation for all children in Bangalore. International education is typically very, very expensive, and not all classes can afford a good education for the children.
So, I wanted to provide global education, hence tying up with Kindiedays. I wanted to use that as a firm foundation to spread good education across all levels and all classes in Bangalore, and hopefully, this will spread across India.
Stella: What a great vision! When you enter Bedrock Preschool, you will see this vision: the heartwarming feeling, the amazing infrastructure, and the child-oriented approach.
Stella: So, what age groups do you have here?
Leena: Yes, we have age groups between 1 and 6 years.
Stella: Are they integrated together, or do you have separate groups?
Leena: We have separate groups, so 1 to 2 years, actually 1 to 3 years, is considered a playgroup, and then 3 to 4 nursery, 4 to 5 LKG, and then 5 to 6 UKG.
Stella: I would like to know more about the pedagogy here in Bedrock. Would you like to share about it?
Leena: We have partnered with the amazing company Kindiedays. So, we get a lot of our vision, our curriculum, and our learning aids from Kindiedays, which has helped us train teachers. The training resources that Kindiedays has provided us have helped teachers incorporate play-based and inquiry-based learning for our children. So that is our vision.
Stella: What motivated you to search for a company like Kindiedays and Finnish Education? What was your initiation there?
Leena: My initiation was the education I researched, which you know is being done in Finland. It is child-oriented, research-oriented, and play-based learning.
I went through a few companies before I tied up with Kindiedays. What resonated with Kindiedays was the resources your company provided for teachers. The lesson plans and the in-detail value you give to any preschool you partner with stuck with me.
Stella: So, do you use our digital solution as well?
Leena: Yes, we do. And it's been very beneficial for us. For teachers, it's easy to track a child's progress. For parents as well, it's effortless, and it's individualized for the child.
What will the future be?
Stella: So, what are your plans for the future? I know you are a dreamer, and you always try to improve. That also shows through the training we are doing through Kindiedays and getting to know you a little bit as a person. So, what are your plans?
Leena: I want to open preschools like Bedrock all over India and definitely partner with Kindiedays for that. I want to incorporate any new training you provide, anything new coming into the market, and any new research you have for us to benefit from. I want to expand that for my teachers, for me, and hopefully for my parents as well.
