We recently had an exciting webinar with one of the top experts in the field of preschooling in India, Senior Consultant Ranjan Goyal. As the CEO, Ranjan has set up several preschool chains in India. He is now an independent consultant helping preschools match new needs and opportunities.
💡Here are the actions he recommends to preschool owners and managers:
A straightforward way is to look at what will help us increase admissions and revenues on the one hand and what will help us reduce costs on the other hand.
🚀 INCREASE ADMISSIONS AND REVENUES
1️⃣ The first and foremost thing to do is invest in parent satisfaction. Only a few preschools do it today. If we invest in parent satisfaction using digital tools and a modern curriculum, I think parents’ word of mouth will build a strong reputation for the preschool. And if the reputation is built, you will automatically get many more admissions.
2️⃣ Point two is investing in a modern curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching methods. Many preschool managers and owners talk about high-quality education and curriculum but do not follow them in line with modern times.
3️⃣ The third is investing in teacher professional training. We sometimes don't give this enough importance. Increasing quality is entirely in the hands of the teachers, not in your hands. So, unless you train them and invest in doing that in modern ways, it's challenging to increase admissions.
💵 REDUCE COSTS
1️⃣ My first point is that parent communication must be digital and efficient today so we don't waste time and money on inefficient working methods.
2️⃣ The second thing is the administration and operations of the preschool. Again, it's straightforward to automate these using digital tools. You don't have to do everything using pen and paper or a simple Excel sheet. You can automate it in a straightforward, surprisingly easy way, which will help you save time and costs in a big way.
3️⃣ It will also help you in retaining your teachers. Teachers often feel this administrative work is taking away from teaching and learning time, frustrating them. Retaining teachers automatically saves a lot of money in rehiring teachers, finding new teachers, interviewing them, and having parents dissatisfied because of teachers changing; that cost gets saved.
So, now we have clear topics and action points to work on.
